Can't Please Them All
You know, it is a known fact that you cannot make everyone happy. I have performed at dozens of churches and each time the audience has been different. Sometimes, I get the "I'll laught at anything" audience. I love this type of audience because they aren't afraid to pick fun at themselves or at society as a whole. Nothing is taboo. They are comfortable in their salvation knowing that laughing at "real" joke will not send them to hell.
Then, I get the "I can't believe she said that" audience. Many times, these are people in the church that believe they live in a sin-free world. They'll pout, turn their noses up, and be offended because I make a joke about being married to the Lord. It is not blasaphemous becasue I am more than comfortable telling the joke and knowing I got a one way ticket to Heaven. But no matter the audience, I always give it my all and hopefully help someone forget about their worries and laugh. Let's be honest, everything I say is usually everything you're thinking. So, aren't you glad I'm your voice!
