I've been getting a lot of flack from people saying "it's mean to call someone ugly" or "God created everything and everything is beautiful." They act as if the word "ugly" should be stricken from the English language. OK, would you prefer I say "feo" that's ugly in Spanish or do you want me to say "unattractive" that's a synonym for ugly. No matter how I say it, it is still plain ugly. I am not calling any specific person out! I am making a general statement. It's a little humor. And it's not offensive unless you attach the statement to someone. So, all you people that think I'm being offensive, well, so be it. I'm offensive. Call me what you want! But that's your opinion. And if you want to get biblical on me, then let's look at a verse from the Bible (NIV):
Judges 15:2"I was so sure you thoroughly hated her," he said, "that I gave her to your friend. Isn't her younger sister more attractive? Take her instead." (Here a man is calling a woman less attractive or he's saying that the older sister is uglier than the younger sister--no matter how you slice it, ugly, less attractive, not as pretty--it's still ugly in my dictionary)
Ugly is not a disease, although for some it may be, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder thus someone or something is only ugly if you think it. So either you know someone you think is ugly or you are ugly. Whatever it is, laugh a little and stop getting your panties in a bunch!
That's all I have to say on the matter. Be sure to buy my book Mama Peavy says, "Women, It's OK to Marry an Ugly Man." It lists five reasons why marrying ugly is actually marrying up!
